The winners of the Kız Kardeşim-Yıldızlar Karması, implemented with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation and in cooperation with the Ahbap Association and the Private Sector Volunteers Association, were introduced at a ceremony held in Istanbul.
The award ceremony for the Kız Kardeşim-Yıldızlar Karması Program within the scope of the My Sister Project, which has been carried out by Coca-Cola Turkey since 2015 to support women's participation in social and economic life, was held in Istanbul on April 25, 2024. Coca-Cola Turkey General Manager Gaye Sunerli delivered the opening speech at the award ceremony, which was attended by Prof. Dr. Çağatay Öztürk, Board Member of Ahbap Association; Pınar Ilgaz, Chairman of the Board of Private Sector Volunteers Association (ÖSGD); Banu Taşkın, General Manager of Turkish Education Foundation (TEV); Aytül Anlar, Secretary General of Ahbap Association; and Sinan Cem Şahin, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Communications and Sustainability for Coca-Cola Eurasia and Middle East. At the ceremony, Haluk Levent, Founder and Chairman of the Ahbap Association and Ali Sunal, theater actor and presenter, conveyed their congratulations to the winners with video messages.
Kız Kardeşim-Yıldızlar Karması Project was launched in cooperation with Ahbap Association, Coca-Cola Turkey and Private Sector Volunteers Association. The program provides financial support to the projects of successful young women in the fields of arts, sports and social good.
Within the scope of the My Sister Project, the Scholarship Program, the Empowerment Program and the Kız Kardeşim-Yıldızlar Karması Program are carried out. Within the scope of the Scholarship Program, while 300 young women from the earthquake region were offered scholarships in 2023, this year scholarship support is provided to 410 young women from 92 universities in 64 cities. The Empowerment Program supports 217 young women in career and personal development through 228 expert mentors from 39 different companies. In addition, 10 thousand young women are provided with information that supports their personal development and career goals through "My Strength is from My Sister" seminars.
Sinan Cem Şahin, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Communications and Sustainability of Coca-Cola Eurasia and Middle East, Pınar Ilgaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Private Sector Volunteers Association (ÖSGD), Haluk Levent, Founder and Chairman of Ahbap Association, Zehra Güneş, National Volleyball Player, Ali Sunal, theater actor and presenter, Canan Güllü, President of the Federation of Women's Associations of Turkey and Aytül Anlar, Secretary General of Ahbap Association were among the jury members of the Kız Kardeşim-Yıldızlar Karması Program.
In her speech at the ceremony, Coca-Cola Turkey General Manager Gaye Sunerli said:
"We have been carrying out the My Sister Project for 9 years in order to make it easier for women to step into their careers, empower them and support them in achieving their dreams. The impact of the My Sister Project is increasing day by day. Last year, we reached nearly 50 thousand young women through the scholarship program, empowerment program, seminars and online trainings that support their personal and career goals.
With the Stars Squad Program, our aim is to support young women in achieving their dreams and to inspire and give hope to other women. Thanks to the program, young women had the chance to express themselves in sports, arts and social good, turn their dreams into reality and inspire their sisters.
Our award-winning stars will be our heroes who courageously set out for their dreams, never give up and inspire others."
Ahbap Association Board Member Prof. Dr. Çağatay Öztürk used the following statements in his speech at the ceremony: "As Ahbap Association, we are very proud to be a part of the My Sister Project. It is very valuable for us to support young women to reach their dreams, to inspire them and to be with them in this process with the Kız Kardeşim-Yıldızlar Karması Program. My Sister Project will continue in the new period with the Scholarship, Empowerment and Kız Kardeşim-Yıldızlar Karması Programs. As of 2024, the My Sister Campus Program, which was added to the project, will support young women in their career journeys. My Sister Project will continue to support young women to reach the careers they dream of by adding new ones to its existing programs.
